Mission:

The Mission of Institute for Technical Vocational Education and Training, ITVET, is to equip non-school populations with skills, knowledge, work ethic and credentials. The primary area of focus includes: High school graduates, the unemployed, private sector apprentices, skilled tradesmen seeking skills upgrade, employed workers in need of skills upgrading and/or retraining.

Goals:

Upon completion of an individualised programme of instruction, trainees will be empowered to: Enter the job market with employability skills Attain advancement in their current employment Offer an improved quality of service and/or product Engage in an entrepreneurial venture.

Philosophy:

ITVET exist expressly for the purpose of offering technical vocational skills training, geared towards training a workforce capable of producing goods and services which are competitive in the global economy. ITVET believe that education is a basic human right, which must be guaranteed to all Belizeans, to the highest level of each person’s ability. Each Student is treated as an individual with unique aspirations, needs and abilities.


Activities:

ITVET provides Students with Career Counselling, Job Placement, Programme Advising, Intramural Sports and Apprenticeship and Internship Coordination.
